What in the heck justifies a Coach bag costing $1000? Walking through the mall and by this store called Coach. Thought it had something to do with sports but instead found bags made for women. Saw the price tags of some of them ranging from $200 to $1000. Do these bags have some sort of temperature control function or a laptop hidden inside that I didn't see? $1000 for a friggin purse? My husband bought me a $400 coach bag with no logo on it and it looks like a manbag. Should I take it back? My husband went out lastnight and bought me a coach purse which is very freakin ugly, it looks like a bag a laptop would go in, there arent even any C's on it to represent that its a coach bag, its just plain UGLY and i dont like it. its a xmas gift, should I take it back and get the one I really want, and just tell him that I dont like it or should i just keep such a sucky investment which I know i wont wear, being that it looks like a manbag or a granny purse. Is it bad to bring a designer bag to school? so, I'm 14, in high school, and i always tell my mom, i almost lost my ipod, cell phone, etc. and she always tell me to carry a purse. Not sure what I want for my sixteenth birthday? I am turning sixteen in two weeks and both my brother and my parents each buy me a big gift (ipod touch, coach bag, etc) but this year I have no idea what I want. Cute school back packs/messenger bag for junior in high school? I'm going to a new school this fall that requires us to have macbooks. it is going to be a much smaller school than i was used to. goin from 4500 kids to 500 kids haha so i'll probably be able to stop at my locker pretty often to change books. but i am looking for a bag that is either a messenger bag or a backpack. Am i spoiled or is this just like any other only child should live? Okay I do NOT want to brag and that is not why I posted this question. I just want to ask you guys if its normal for an only child like me living with her mom to have these things: -own laptop (mom's older one) -cell with keyboard -coach bag -own tv -name brand clothes (abercrombie and fitch, hollister, american eagle, etc) -1 acer of land -3 story house -spoiled-ish dog xD -ds lite and dsi, ipod video nano, and digital cam i'm 13 and i dont brag to ANYONE about my stuff because i think thats mean. Am i rich and spoiled, normal or whut?? D: I appreciate everything i get, and i have to admit, when i see something i really like my mom usually buys it for me. but if it's rlly expensive like juicy couture, i either have to work for it, or wait until my birthday or christmas. Starting with my house, I live a wealthy neighborhood where the cost of living is high, and the taxes are alot, and my family lives on an averaged sized lot and a big for most areas/small for this area home. i have an eternity cell phone, pink ipod nano, laptop, digital camera,& wii. To school, I wear something like this: True Religion/7 For all Mankind/ Miss Me jeans, i literally have shirts from EVERYWHERE from Micheal Kors & Marc by Marc Jacobs to homemade tye dye tshirts (they're actually cute ok!) black uggs/brown uggs/Coach shoes/Tory Burch flats/Tory Burch flip flops/sperrys/nike tennis shoes, north face jacket/Juicy jackets(4) I have a Gucci bag (Xmas gift) 3 Coach bags, Juicy bag, RL bag, 5 Vera Bradley bags (if you think they're ugly great, i really dont care so dont waste your time) and then some non designer purses from random places. 1 Silver Tiffany necklace, Tiffany heart earrings, small (authentic) diamond earrings Before you start judging note that alot of these designer items (yes my parents bought most of them) were on sale or given as a gift. A couple of them I bought myself though. my haircuts cost about $70 just for a "trim" I know this is alot, does anyone know a good place that's a bit cheaper? Yes, I am thankful for everything I have, sometimes I want more, but I know I have a pretty easy life so I rarely complain about things like this. Please dont give me the answer "if you are grateful you are not spoiled" that may technically be the truth, but you know what I mean. Thanks for any helpful answers! Oh & also my parents make sure I know the value of money (oh trust me they make SURE) and I do, I dont get whatever I want whenever I want it, and I know I never will. My parents love me and try to teach me that I cant get whatever I want, because, even though it seems like the spoiled kids parents love them more, they clearly dont because they dont truly care about their kid's future. (Not that they dont love them but they mostly care about pleasing them) Hehe, this is what I learned a few years ago in 5th grade when I had a REALLY spoiled friend. No one tells me this EVER. extremely annoying cousin? im 14 (female) and shes 7. lets start wiith that shes a spoiled brat. she has an ipod, laptop, 2 nintendo DS (she couldnt decide between two colors). Now shes asking for a cell phone and she wants texting. Just now her mom called me and asked how much texting costs which means shes getting it. She tries to get whatever me ad mu brother (16) have. She gets it right after we get it. Am I overanalyzing these things? My boyfriend texted me saying he was going to sleep, so we said our goodnights. Then, half an hour later, I received a text from him saying "I sent you the link you sent me, lemme turn on my laptop and fine the code" and I responded "What are you talking about?" but he didn't reply, so I called him twice after a couple minutes. Still no answer, so I let it go. Then, while talking to a friend, I was telling him how my bf bought me a coach purse the other night for Christmas he was supposed to put something else in and wrap but when we got back to his house he didn't want to bring it in. What should i ask for for christmas (younger teen girl)? I'm stuck at what to ask for for christmas. i'm 13. Could you accidentally send your baby though an x ray machine? A woman going through security at Los Angeles International Airport put her month-old grandson into a plastic bin intended for carry-on items and slid it into an X-ray machine. The early Saturday accident — bizarre but not unprecedented — caught airport workers by surprise, even though the security line was not busy at the time, officials said. A screener watching the machine's monitor immediately noticed the outline of a baby and pulled the bin backward on the conveyor belt. The infant was taken to Centinela Hospital, where doctors determined that he had not received a dangerous dose of radiation. Officials, who declined to release the 56-year-old woman's name, said she spoke Spanish and apparently did not understand English. She initially didn't want the baby transported to a hospital, but security officials called paramedics and insisted that the child be examined by a doctor. The grandmother and the child were subsequently allowed to board an Alaska Airlines flight to Mexico City. The rare incident drew attention to whether officials are staffing often-busy security checkpoints enough to prevent such an accident. And it raised questions about the danger of X-rays used to pick out suspicious metal shapes in passenger bags, given the medical community's warnings that even low amounts of radiation can build up over a lifetime. "Rather than focus on the radiation dose, which is a small amount, we need to focus on why this happened, so it doesn't happen again," said Dr. James Borgstede, a diagnostic radiologist at Penrose-St. Francis Health Systems in Colorado Springs, Colo., and president of the American College of Radiology. "Human beings weren't meant to go through those things." In the several seconds the baby spent in the machine, the doctor added, he was exposed to as much radiation as he would naturally get from cosmic rays — or high energy from outer space — in a day. Security experts said the incident underscored a more widespread concern about the screening process at LAX and other airports. "The screeners are still reporting that they're being pushed," said Brian Sullivan, a retired Federal Aviation Administration security agent. "If a baby can get through, what the hell else can get through?" Nico Melendez, a spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration, which manages LAX screeners, said the agency doesn't have enough workers to constantly stand at tables in front of the screeners to coach passengers on what should or should not be sent through X-ray machines. But in some cases, airlines contract with private companies to staff the tables and assist travelers. The TSA will also occasionally put employees at the tables if extra workers are available. TSA screeners often ask passengers to put their coats, shoes, laptops and other items into the bins, Melendez said. But they cannot observe everything people place there, because they must monitor screening equipment, he added. Still, he said that the TSA works hard to educate passengers about what carry-on objects require screening and that travelers must take responsibility for knowing these rules. "There's an obligation on the traveler to use some common sense," said Larry Fetters, the TSA's federal security director at LAX. "If they don't understand, they should ask somebody. If they ask us, we are generally able to find someone who speaks that language and assist them." On its website, the TSA posts extensive tips for travelers, including a section titled "Traveling With Children." One item reads: "Never leave babies in an infant carrier while it goes through the X-ray machine." There are also signs posted in English and Spanish at ticket counters and near security checkpoints warning passengers that they must put metal objects, such as cellphones, pagers and car keys, into bins that go through X-ray machines.
Gifts for the not-so-normal teen girl? I am the teen girl. Im not really asking for the regular things that normal teen girls are asking for, like UGG boots or coach bags. I am really into my education and helping people,animals and the environment. I am already asking from my aunts and uncles for a donation to the WWF foundation but im not sure what to ask for. ARE ALL COLLEGES LIKE THIS OR IS MY COLLEGE JUST PLAiN "GHETTO"? I decided on this school to find more down-to-earth people, because it offers my major and is a state college (not too expensive), and because it is a commuter college. Now that I have been here for around one month, living in the dorms, I have found the school to be much different than I had pictured it would be: I have only made one friend and she commutes so we only hang out in class and a bit after class. She's awesome though. More girls here smoke cigarettes more than guys -- and a lot of people smoke. Tons of people smoke hookahs, drink constantly, and do drugs. Also, at least half the girls in my dorm are sluts and sleep with random guys. And there is more: most everyone here swears every-other word and speaks very "ghetto." ex: "Hey N*** I just about to f**k that little ho y'hear me man?" The weirdest part is that almost everyone walks around with coach and juicy couture everything (cellphone stuff, ipod stuff, laptop stuff, clothes, bags) not to mention Ed Hardy and Seven Jeans and True Religion. Also, it seems like everyone has those fancy cellphone like the iphone. In my English class(I skipped into second semester English which is basically all sophomores!) a lot of the kids had to attend workshops because they didn't even know the difference between "their," "they're," and "there!" There are some nice, hardworking, and intelligent kids here, however, many of the people are rude, lazy, and act like trash:/ Is this normal or is it just my school??? Is this a bad reason to be upset with my friend? I will admit that I am a bit spoiled... I have a Macbook, two pairs of UGGS, a Wii, three Juicy Couture things (bag, necklace, wristlet), a Coach over-the-shoulder bag, a Gucci over-the-shoulder, and a Kate Spade purse. But I don't have many clothes or shoes, because I would rather spend money on other things, hence the purses and such. But my friend is starting to get on my nerves. She always wants something more--and I mean ALWAYS. She has 13 items from Juicy Couture, around 4 from Coach, about 5 from Lesportsac, Coach shoes, Nikes, two pairs of converse, UGGS, her own laptop, a Wii, etc. But she has a MILLION clothes! She has a ginormous full dresser with at least 150 tees &tanks and 25 pants, and a closet STUFFED with sweaters, jackets, hoodies, longsleeves, and many many more!! And it really bugs me that every time she goes to the mall (at least once a week) she spends a lot of money on even MORE clothes and stuff! Plus, (and this is the really annoying part), she doesn't even wear half of the clothes that she has. I haven't seen her wear like 1/3 of what is in her closet, and I have mentioned this to her in a nice way, but she said that she wears them sometimes. Honey, I beg to differ. It makes me sad to see that she acts like everything she has is nothing. Should I confront her again about this? Tell her how much it bothers me? Oh, she also brags about everything that she has. What to do in a 4-5 day train ride across the country? Hey, I basically need a idea or what to do, for a 4 day train ride (Amtrak) ride across the country. I'm going from California, all the way to Maine, and I'm lost out of ideas to see what to do. My trip begins tomorrow, and I'm taking my classes online. Amtrak (the train's name) does have internet, but its mostly for the Class Coach (VIP) section. Sometimes, I can get a couple bars out of it, if I sit close, and sometimes I don't. I have 200$ to spend on the whole ride, and I'm need spending it on a VIP section, which usually costs a lot! I'm only bringing these stuff, but I'm lost on what to bring, and I only am bringing ONE pack: Laptop Cell phone Twilight book 20 magazines A tall water bottle Some chips/snacks, etc. Money One bag (clothes and stuff) Thats basically it. I'm not bringing food, but I'm bringing chips, snacks. The trains has food, (burgers, snacks, pizza) but it's A LOT of money. A hamburger for 6-9$? Yeah, a lot. But, they close and open at times, but I have snacks for cover. I am bringing a blanket, and a small pillow for travel. I'm sitting alone, already resevered. But, I get bored easily, but sleeping passes time. They have a built in bathroom, so it's alright. But, is everything ready, or should I bring more stuff? It just feels pointless to try anymore? im having a problem, mainly with my family, kinduh with my friends. i dont have anyone to turn to at the moment. ive got plenty of friends, just not a best friend and not someone i want to tell. so i guess ill tell strangers instead. because i need help. im also sorry its so long. i used to pretendd that i could always go to my dad for help and i always treasured everything he gave me just so itd comfort me. but now he doesnt want me either. all he wants is his little daughter, and not me anymore. he didnt say two words to me all weekend i was at his house and all i got for my birthday was an email. next weekend he didnt bother showing up to pick us up and i havent heard from him. my mums kind of like, crazy. i dont know. i think she must be :| she ovverreacts at the tiniest thing and will go crazy shouting at me and saying ive done stuff, im a useless bitch. shell see me crying and just sneer. it makes me wonder whether she cares. sometimes she hits me, and pushes me about, all above my lip was cut in june when she hit the roof because i forgot what time a friend's bday dinner started. last week she screamed at me because i didnt tell her about my food project in time. shes always saying how im so useless and i leave her to do everything.yeterday my older sister and her boyfriend came round and my mum tried to make it soo perfect for them, making a big sunday dinner, sending us out to the shop to get a cake. they barely said to words to us and just ate and left. it hurt even me so it must have hurt her. and this morning the blame transfered to me like it normally does. i came downstairs at about 730am , ready, just getting my p.e kit. i was like "where are my trackies?" cuz id given her them to wash the other day with my school uniform. she says "in the wash, why do you need them?" and i said "um yeah but ill just get my shorts. hang on a second." so i put my bag down and thought for a second where are my shorts. theyre in the conservatory. im about to go get them when she barges past me shouting about how were gonna be late for school (which starts at half eight) and screaming that im so unorganized and lazy and useless, and threw the shorts at me. figuring this isnt a good time to say i knew where they were i just picked up my bag and got in the car. then i realise ive left my key in the house. i mumble this and she shouts even more. basically the same stuff. i get my key. we set off at about 7:35. and shes shouting at me all the while, saying i cant have my laptop when i get home (ill probably get caught :s) and i cant go to my gymnastics tonight. i go almost every day apart from sunday and tuesday and its lke my home. its the only place i can go where everyone likes me, where im good at something, where i can trust nothing bad will happen. my coaches like me, im in the good group of friends and they all like me. its the only place where i can feel that comfortable and i love it so much. so instead of being there im here at home in my room crying, it sounds pathetic but i miss it so much already. i just want to see everyone and feel chalk and crap. so i know i shouldntve but i said "oh yeah whats the point of that then? your always telling me about me wasting my money on crap and then that's just cost me at least a fiver!" i pay for my own gym lesssons. mainly my nana gives me the money but my dad used to. i dont think he will anymore. so now shes screaming about how she doesnt care about me and im just sat there crying. every time i sniff she shouts shut up. my sisters in the backseat listening to heripod- yet another selfish person who couldnt care less when i need help, but when its her .. oh well thats another story! then she started hitting me, just slapping my leg so it wasnt that bad. and i just blurted out "what have i done?!" because in all honesty i just felt lost. and she said "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?" and started laughing. hits me again and doesnt answer. i know i shouldnt have but i said "exactly. nothing." and she starts shouting again about why did i even care about gym, "they see you more than i do! and to be honest thats how i like it." so i said "why arent you letting me go thenn??" and she just said "to teach you a lesson." and sneers again. "there that hurts doesnt it. you hurt me (WTF) and ill take something away from you." so i ask if i can go on the bus. she says no. "youve never got on a bus in your life!!" and im like what the fuck, but i didnt say that, cause i get the bus twice a day every day. and im like "i know exactly which bus to get!" becausse i do! and she just says "oh shut up, youve already ruined my day. and now im gonna miss my train. you happy? are you? rotten little bitch." let me point out that now it is quarter to eight and the train comes at quarter past. we're at my school aka two millimetere from the train station. she just snarls ""why do you have to ABUSE me!! JUST GET OUT!!" and i go. im struggling not to cry in the stre *struggling not to cry in the street and my sister crosses the road and leaves me. which is a total joke as she whores herself out to boyfriends and thinks shes a total beautiful angel. im still crying even now, i miss everything. mainly i want my gymnastics back... i want to be there right now :( so much :( and i want a normal family so bad and a dad. and a best friend tbh :( not just my gym girls who are , well, at gym. my mum also drinks a lot of wine . when i say a lot i mean a lot. please just tell me what i can do to get this point across to her that shes hurting me so badly. i dont want to leave home but i could go to my nanas if it got too bad which im scared it will one day. im sometimes terrified that she might kill me. and it scares me so much when i feel like i have nothing to live for anmore and im jut worthles and i just want to die. (school is dire as i am not exactly as bright as my mother thinks is adequate). please help me.. OH MY GOD!!! she has just come up to me, asking what i want for tea, giving me a bunch of grapes and a drink, offering to wash my now-muddy school trousers. im even angrier now :@@ SHE DOES THIS EVERY TIME. expects she can get away without an apology and itll ALLL be back to normal. well im sick of it. i am 14. my older sister, with the bf, is 23. the ipod sister is almost 17.
Does recession mean 1 pot of beans for a family of 12 for a week, or no cell phones and big screens for KIDS? I am confused. I see every college drinking starbucks, driving their own cars, wearing coach bags, shopping for Iphones, laptops, and new flat screen t.v.s for their very own apartments. I could on with how tots, children, and teenagers spend, but you get the point. SO, does recession or depression mean what my grandfather explained where his family of 12 ate one pot of beans for a week, or does it mean kids may have to actually get summer jobs to pay for their $400 phones?
Am I spoiled? Am I spoiled? I am 14 and all my clothes are from department stores and sometimes boutiques. I have a few designer bags like 1 chanel and a dior and a dior wallet. then i have some cheap coach ones. i am not here to brag. I know i am not super rich it is just that kids at school make fun of me and say that i am a spoiled brat. anyway, i have a computer in my room and a slvr l7 and also a laptop. i am pretty popular at school but i am kind of losing my popularity because people dont like that i have more than them. i also have the new ipod nano and a pink digital camera. and a silver video camera. most of my shoes are just like rocket dog or nine west, i dont like to splurge on shoes. so what do you think? am i spoiled?
